In 2005, Hans Zimmer and James Newton Howard emerged out of the tall shadows of Danny Elfman (who gave us the most iconic theme to the Caped Crusader) to produce a thrilling, claustrophobic and brooding score for Christopher Nolan’s The Dark Knight. Now I’m not the biggest fan of Joel Schumacher’s entries (but then again WHO IS?) I still have room for Elliot Goldenthal’s contributions to the franchise, even with ‘Batman & Robin’, an epic cinematic score that was WAY better then the movie it was attached too.
So as the clouds begin to part for the arrival of ‘Batman v Superman’, we get our first taste of what Dutch musician Junkie XL has in store for us come March 25th. Tom Holkenborg (aka Junkie XL) has already provided some great work for the silver screen including ‘Divergent’ (check out ‘Choosing Dauntless’) and ‘Mad Max: Fury Road’. So hopefully The Bat is in good hands once again, but of course you can hear for yourself now:
‘Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice’ hits us March 25th 2016.
What do you think of the theme? Sound off below!
