NBC’s head of research, when giving a press conferences about TV show ratings, revealed the ratings to several Netflix shows as a comparison to their own. Jessica Jones, which premiered in late November, turned out to be the top show of the ones listed.
Jessica Jones averaged approximately 4.8 million viewers (in the 18-49 demographic) per episode in the months since its debut, which is a very remarkable feat when compared to the other shows that NBC mentioned: Master of None had 3.9 million viewers, and Narcos 3.2, while The Man in the High Castle was only able to muster 2.1.
This 4.8 million number is not only good for a subscription service like Netflix, but it’s also good in general for superhero TV shows. Agents of SHIELD, The Flash, Arrow, and Gotham have all averaged about 4-6 million viewers per episode. Jessica Jones really was a hit, apparently.
