When it was announced that Elektra was joining the cast of Marvel’s Daredevil for its second season everyone seemed to be excited. Well, we now know one person who isn’t thrilled – and it’s someone with very strong ties to the character.
Speaking at the recent Comic Con Experience, Frank Miller, who was responsible for introducing the character during his acclaimed run on the series, explained the following:
“They can call it whatever you want, but It will not be the real Elektra.”
Strong words.
In the past, Miller has previously responded unfavorably to Marvel’s decisions regarding the character – most notably in the choice to bring the character back after her death at the hands of Bullseye.
Given that he describes himself as Elektra’s ‘Father’; it’s understandable that he would have strong feelings for the character. We’ll find out just how close the character is to the comic version when Èlodie Yung wields the Sais next year.
