With the Black Panther making a big impact in the recently released Captain America: Civil War trailer, a lot of interest in his solo outing has begun to generate, and now it looks as though the film may have found its director in Fruitvale Station’s Ryan Coogler.
Coogler, whose latest film Creed is currently garnering positive acclaim (check out our review here) was initially reported to be in negotiations by the site Birth.Movies.Death – although this has since been confirmed by The Wrap and Variety.
The director’s chair has already been offered to both Ava DuVernay and F. Gary Gray who were unable to commit to the project.
The film starring Chadwick Boseman in the titular role is due for release July 6th, 2018, but we’ll be seeing him before that in Captain America: Civil War on May 6th, 2016.
