While we haven’t heard much on the subject of the Justice League Dark film since Guillermo del Toro revealed that a draft of the script had been handed in, it does still appear to be very much active over at Warner Brothers.
The folks over at Latino Review have reported that not only is the film still in production, but they are also searching for its cast. The report reveals that the studio has currently got its eye on either Colin Farrell or Ewan McGregor for the role of chain smoking Liverpudlian John Constantine (sorry Matt Ryan fans). Supposedly, which ever actor doesn’t take the Constantine role will in fact be offered the role of Jason Blood, the human aspect of Etrigan the Demon.
The site also goes on to report that Bond girl Monica Bellucci is being courted for the role of Sorceress Madame Xanadu and that the studio is looking for a Black or Hispanic actor for the part of Zatanna. The script apparently also features the character of Deadman.
Of course it wouldn’t be a del Toro film without a role for Ron Perlman, and apparently the director had Swamp Thing in mind for the actor, something which the studio is still keen on.
There is still no release date for the film so it’s hard to say how accurate this information is, but it certainly sounds interesting.
