Despite being first reported back in August, we have yet to have confirmation of Chris Pine’s participation in the upcoming Wonder Woman film starring Gal Gadot. Luckily, we now have our answer from the man himself.
Speaking to French magazine Premiere.Fr, the Star Trek actor confirmed his involvement, as well as expressing his excitement at the project:
“I do not really know what I’m allowed to tell you,” he explained. “I’m super excited, of course, Gal Gadot is super talented, Patty Jenkins will direct, and we will shoot in film.”
He also revealed how he is looking forward to being in a different type of Superhero film:
“What excites me most is to work in a movie with a superhero woman. With a woman in the lead role. I am teamed with this intelligent, beautiful and strong woman to defeat the villains and save humanity.”
What’s interesting is that he doesn’t confirm who he is playing, although the rumors are that he will be playing pilot Steve Trevor, better known as the Amazon Princess’ love interest.
Before she was Wonder Woman (Gal Gadot), she was Diana, princess of the Amazons, trained to be an unconquerable warrior. Raised on a sheltered island paradise, Diana meets an American pilot (Chris Pine) who tells her about the massive conflict that’s raging in the outside world. Convinced that she can stop the threat, Diana leaves her home for the first time. Fighting alongside men in a war to end all wars, she finally discovers her full powers and true destiny.
What do you think? Is he playing Steve Trevor? Or is there another character he would suit better? Let us know in the comments down below!
