It looks like Jason Voorhees won’t be rising again, to terrorize teens at Camp Crystal Lake anytime soon. Paramount has revealed a change in release date for the upcoming Friday the 13th reboot, moving the film from 13th May 2016 to 13th January 2017.
Since the project was first announced back in 2013, there has been very little development, with the only news being changes of release date. There was once talk of the film being told in the found footage style, before negative fan reaction, forced the studio to change its plans.
Even if the film does not come to fruition, we are still likely to be seeing Jason Vorhees soon, with both a video game and a TV series on the CW Network coming in the next few years.
It should be noted that the next time that the 13th will fall on a Friday, will be October 2017, 9 months later.
