GODZILLA vs. KONG Will Arrive In 2020; Trilogy Planned

Kaiju fans, rejoice! Warner Bros and Legendary Pictures have come together to announce that 2014’s smash hit “Godzilla” was the first installment in a new shared universe of iconic giant monster films.

Other monsters likely to make an appearance include many of Gojira’s old Toho adversaries, such as Mothra, King Ghidora, and Rodan. The films will be tied together by the common thread of the Monarch organization, who unwittingly awoke the MUTOs, causing Godzilla to emerge from the sea in his best cinematic outing to date. We don’t have the details on how they will be involved with the other giant monsters yet, but last year’s film was so well-crafted, we know it will be great.

“Kong: Skull Island” stars Tom Hiddleston, Samuel L. Jackson, and John Goodman. It begins filming next week, and will be released on March 10, 2017. “Godzilla 2” follows in 2018, and “Godzilla vs. Kong” in 2020.

What other classic kaiju do you hope to see in this universe? Tell us in the comments below!
