With Marvel studios ruling the Box-office with their Cinematic Universe, DC is not that far behind. They kicked off their own Cinematic Universe with ‘Man of Steel’ in 2013. And in less than one year from now, we will welcome the second movie of DCCU, the highly anticipated ‘Batman V Superman: Dawn of Justice. It has been officially announced that DC superhero, The Flash will be a part of the DCCU. Ezra Miller has been cast as the Scarlet Speedster and the movie is set to release in 2018.
Now, recently a TV series has also started based on the Flash. It has been well received by both fans and critics. The show beautifully highlights the life, the friends and also- the ENEMIES of our speed-force accessing superhero. Over the years, in comic books, the Flash has encountered (and defeated) quite a lot supervillains. And DC being a great producer of amazing negative characters, most of those villains were every bit as interesting as our hero.
Here are 5 of the villains we wouldn’t mind seeing in ‘The Flash’ (2018) movie:
5. Weather Wizard
Weather Wizard (aka Mark Mardon) is one of the most underrated villains in the DC multiverse. He can control the weather using his wand. There is just one word for that kind of power- AWESOME. The wand was created by Mark’s brother, Clyde Mardon. Using this wand, the Weather Wizard had pushed the Flash to his limits many times in the past. He can summon lightning, blizzard and even tornadoes and hurricanes. Imagine watching them in the theater in 3D.
4. Captain Cold
So, he just looks like Mr. Freeze in a funky hoodie, right? Well, believe me, he is NOT. Captain Cold (aka Leonard Snart) is one of the most dangerous and powerful enemies of the Flash. He was also declared the leader of the Flash’s Rogue’s Gallery. Although he uses a Cold Gun to freeze things to absolute zero, his most powerful weapons are his skills and experience. In spite of being a criminal, he follows his code of honor. He is a man of his words even when making deals with the Flash. Of course, we’d love to see a villain like that in the movie.
3. Mirror Master
The Flash might be the fastest man alive, but how can he catch someone if he can’t reach him? The Mirror Master can travel through the reflective surface of the mirror world. He can transport other persons there, too. Both the versions of the character has tragic origins, whether it’s Evan McCulloch losing both his parents or Sam Scudder being trapped in the Mirror World and isolated from the woman he loves. So, that could provide some dramatic elements in the movie.
2. Gorilla Grodd
Gorilla Grodd is a hyper-intelligent telepathic gorilla with the power to control the minds of others. At one time, he was nothing more than an average ape, but after an alien spacecraft crashes in his African home, Grodd and his troupe are imbued with super intelligence by the ship’s pilot. Grodd developed telepathic and telekinetic powers. He is definitely the top monkey in DC. His intelligence, power, ambitions and intimidating nature makes him number 2 on our list.
And last but not the least-
1. Reverse Flash/Prof. Zoom
There have been many versions of this character throughout the history of DC Comics. But as it is confirmed that Ezra Miller will be playing Barry Allen, I think it is safe to assume that if we see Zoom, we will see Eobard Thawne behind the mask. This character is a dark reflection to the Flash himself. He is also a speedster. He has matched the speed of the Flash on many occasions and sometimes, even surpassed him. Like Flash, he is also capable of time-travelling. So, it is like our Scarlet Speedster facing himself, but only stronger and more evil. The battles between these two are always epic. So, we can hope to see a fight-sequence between them directed by Zack Snyder.
I hope you guys liked the article. See you later. *disappears in a FLASH*
