As you all know, Andrew Garfield’s run as Spider-Man didn’t end on the most positive note. There were plans to have 4 Amazing Spider-Man movies – as well as spin-offs with the villains of the Spider-Man universe. Those plans fell through after disapointing box office numbers for TASM2 which eventually led to Sony and Marvel striking a deal to include the web-slinger in the Marvel Cinematic Universe – and that led to the character being re-casted.

Andrew Garfield seems pretty positive about the casting of Tom Holland in the role, though:

“It feels lovely, especially because Tom Holland is a really, really great actor,” Garfield told ET. “He was in this movie The Impossible and he was just this incredibly powerful, sensitive, just wonderful young actor.”

He also noted that it feels good to just be a fan again:

“I’m just really excited to just be a fan again as opposed to bearing the weight of it,” Garfield said.
