A report has come out from Latino Review that a possible merging of Fox’s comic book properties, X-Men and Fantastic Four, could happen in 2018.
However – it appears that a lot of things have to go right before that will happen. The Fantastic Four reboot, helmed by Josh Trank will need to do well at the box office, and its planned sequel for 2017 will also need to make some money.
But it’s not just on the ever-lovin’ blue-eyed Thing’s broad and rocky shoulders that this potential shared universe rests. X-Men: Apocalypse in 2016 will have to produce the goods for Fox to ensure that the cross-over happens.
As this is still far off, and has more than a few variables, there are no details regarding who will be involved. We’d hazard a guess that the new Fantastic Four will be the same, but the line-up from the X-Men is far from certain.
Fantastic Four is out in August, and stars Miles Teller, Kate Mara, Michael B. Jordan and Jamie Bell.
