Why Ben Affleck Directing A Batman Solo Film Makes Sense

    By Frank PalmerJune 25, 2015

It’s no secret that Ben Affleck is the new Batman – whether you support that decision or not. So, obviously, it’s only a matter of time before we get new solo Batman films with Affleck under the cowl. When that time comes, who should direct these movies? Rumors are circling that Warner Bros. wants Batfleck to pull double duty and both star in and direct at least the first solo Batman film. This actually is pretty logical.

Warner Bros. and Affleck have a pretty good relationship. They have let him direct some of their biggest films of late – such as The Town and Argo. When he was cast as Batman, I immediately thought that further down the road he would be directing more films for the company – possibly even DC films. It wouldn’t surprise me if there’s actually something in his Batman contract about directing future projects down the road – given his track record as a director.

While it’s a rumor at this point, those who don’t like Affleck as an actor can’t really deny his skills behind the camera.
