First he was rumored, then he was bouncing around in his Instagram videos, and now 19 year old Brit, Tom Holland is Spider-Man.
Now, according to a report from The Hollywood Reporter, he will be donning the tights in Captain America: Civil War before headlining his own Spider-Man film:
Hollywood Reporter writer Gregg Kilday confirmed the news, writing, “Holland will report immediately to the set of the currently shooting Captain America: Civil War, which Marvel has scheduled for a May 6, 2016, release and in which the newest Spider-Man will make his first onscreen appearance,”
Kevin Feige, Marvel Studios President also had some interesting things to say regarding the joint venture with Sony, and how much input Marvel would have following the friendly neighborhood Spiderman’s appearance in Civil War.
“Well, we’re producing it for Sony,” Feige continued, “It’s exciting, and we’re treating it like we treat all of our films. To try to make the best version now of Spider-Man and a version of Spider-Man that inhabits this universe that we’ve created.”
And when asked if any of Marvel’s characters could show up in Sony’s Spider-Man film?
“Specifics of the story aside, the agreement that has been made between Sony and Marvel is that we could do that.”
