In exciting news for Marvel fans, Tom Holland has been cast as the new live-action Spider-Man. At just nineteen years old, Holland is set to bring a fresh and vibrant energy to the iconic role.

Tom Holland, an English actor born in Kingston upon Thames, has been making waves in the entertainment industry from a young age. His breakout role came in the form of Billy Elliot in the musical adaptation of the same name at the Victoria Place Theatre in London. Holland’s talent and charisma quickly caught the attention of audiences and critics alike.
Tom Holland will be the third actor to portray Spider-Man in a big-budget motion picture. Tobey Maguire and Andrew Garfield both had successful runs as the web-slinger in previous iterations. Maguire starred in the original Spider-Man trilogy, while Garfield took on the role in “The Amazing Spider-Man” and its sequel.
Marvel fans won’t have to wait long to see Holland’s Spider-Man in action. He is set to make his debut in “Captain America: Civil War,” a highly anticipated film that brings together an ensemble cast of Marvel characters. This appearance will serve as a precursor to Holland’s standalone Spider-Man film, which will be directed by Jon Watts and is scheduled to be released on July 28th, 2017.
After months of speculation, rumors and more – it looks like Tom Holland will be the first Spider-Man to be included in the Marvel Cinematic Universe.
