We have a new look at season 2 of Fox’s The Exorcist. The video is titled “Evil Has a New Home”, and features cast members Jeremy Slater, Ben Daniels, Alfonso Herrera and John Cho discussing the new season. Check out the video below.
The second season will follow Father Ortega and Marcus Keane as they travel looking for cases outside of Chicago. This leads them to a group home for foster children on an island off the coast of Seattle. The story really gets interesting when one of the children ends up getting possessed, leaving the two priests to deal with the problem.
The Exorcist TV series premiered last year in September, where it functioned as a sequel to the original 1973 film. However, Ben Daniels, Alfonso Herrera, and Kurt Egyiawan are the only returning regulars from the first season. It’s an interesting decision, considering quite a few characters from the original film managed to pop up for the inaugural season. But it makes sense if the creators involved want to focus on their own story.
The original film is considered one of the greatest horror films of all time, having been extremely innovative and influential across the genre. It’s also one of the highest-grossing horror films ever made. The film was eventually followed by two sequels, as well as two prequel films. However, all of these have been ignored for the new TV series.
Season 2 of The Exorcist premieres Friday, September 29 on FOX.
