Josh Brolin took to Instagram to give us a peak at his Cable character in Deadpool 2. The picture says a lot, but the caption alongside it says even more. You can tell he is a pretty disturbed guy.
The picture is black and white and Cable is screaming at himself into a cracker mirror. He looks beat up. His message, “Oh my God, wait until you see ‘Deadpool’. It’s SO funny!!! #L2 #cableinsanity #cableswole #cablepowered #cableporn”, is completely disconnected from the featured image, and it speaks volumes.
Ryan Reynolds introduced the first picture of Cable to make it onto the internet in August. Again, he seemed a pretty disturbed character as he was the standard big guy with big guns, but was also carrying a teddy bear. This provided speculation that Hope Summers might make an appearance in the sequel.
In 1986, Nathan Summers, is the son of Cyclops and Madelyne Pryor. Madelyne Pryor is Jean Grey’s clone. Summers made his first appearance in Uncanny X-Men #201. He wasn’t known as Cable until 1990 in the #87 issue of New Mutants.
X-Men fans have been waiting for a film like this. Cable is widely revered as the best leader of X-Force. Domino and Deadpool were included in that particular team, so this would complete the connection everyone has been wanting the franchise to complete. With the introduction of Cable, the franchise can branch off and make an X-Force film.
David Leitch is directing Deadpool 2, which Ryan Reynolds will reprise his role as Deadpool in. Weasel will be played by T.J. Miller, Negasonic Teenage Warhead by Brianna Hildebrand, Blind AI by Leslie Uggams, the voice of Colossus by Stefan Kapičić, and Karan Soni as Dopinder. Zazie Beets will portray Domino and Josh Brolin will be Cable. Two characters who aren’t well confirmed will be played by Julian Dennison and Jack Kesy. Dennison’s role isn’t known yet, and Kesy might be playing Black Tom Cassidy. The movie has a release date of June 1, 2018.
