One thing that many fans would love to see would be the X-Men in the Marvel Cinematic Universe.
And Fantastic Four.
Deadpool, on the other hand, while it’d be cool to see the character in the MCU, FOX isn’t exactly doing a bad job with the character.
The 2016 film was a massive success at the Box Office and critically – a film that pretty much everyone loved.
Though FOX and Marvel Studios don’t seem to be coming to an agreement any time soon, that hasn’t stopped Ryan Reynolds from talking about the possibility of a crossover.
In a recent interview with Total Film, Reynolds said:
“That sounds like a great idea but a very expensive idea. Can you imagine the shit-talking contest with Iron Man? Oh, that would be great. But it would have to be rated R to completely unharness everybody. Unbridle the merriment and watch them go…”
I think it’s cool to talk to talk about but something we’ll probably never see.
In regards to Reynolds’ comment, though, I think the film could still work even if it wasn’t Rated-R. Deadpool could break the fourth wall by talking about how he was in a PG-13 movie and how his other movie was Rated R.
Another reason it wouldn’t be Rated-R? Marvel’s Kevin Feige revealed there aren’t any plans for those types of films in the MCU:
“My takeaway from both of those films is not the R rating, it’s the risk they took, the chances they took, the creative boundaries that they pushed. That should be the takeaway for everyone.”
Well. At least we have Deadpool 2 and Infinity War on the way.
