May 2nd marked the 9th anniversary of the very first Iron Man film and with it, the birth of the bold plan to connect all Marvel Studios films in a interwoven series known now as the Marvel Cinematic Universe.
Buried deep in the films credits, we were given our first tease of the Avengers yet to come when Nick Fury offered Tony Stark a spot on the Avenger Initiative and Marvel fans rejoiced for their prayers had finally been answered. According to reports from Chronicle Live, Fury (Samuel L. Jackson) and Stark (Robert Downey Jr.) may reunite for Avengers: Infinity War on what will be the 10th anniversary of the MCU.
While details of the reunion are scarce, rumor has it the two are shooting their scene for the upcoming Avengers three-quel in Durham, England.
With super hero team-ups in no short supply in a film boasting a cast of over 60 Marvel characters, it wouldn’t be much of a surprise to see Nick Fury and Iron Man cross paths once again, especially given the pairs tumultuous history together.
Taking place four years after the events of Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2, the Avengers, now disassembled following the end of Captain America: Civil War, must join forces with the Guardians of the Galaxy to stop Thanos the Mad Titan who seeks to collect the Infinity Stones for a gauntlet that will give him control over space, time, and all reality in an effort to court the very entity of Death herself.
Avengers: Infinity War hits theaters on May 4th, 2018.
