As filming for Marvel’s Infinity War is now in full swing, we’ve only seen small glimpses into the shoot. Footage has now emerged of Elizabeth Olsen as Scarlet Witch as she battles a man in a motion capture suit, wielding a long staff equipped with a bright light at its tip.
While nothing has yet been confirmed, fans have speculated this mo-cap clad actor is none other Corvius Glaive, a member of the Black Order and servant of Thanos the Mad Titan. Corvius wields a long pike, similar to the staff used by the actor in the footage. Given Thanos’ role in Infinity War, this speculation isn’t much of a stretch.
The much anticipated Infinity War and its untitled sequel boast a cast of at least 67 Marvel characters. The core Avengers and Guardians of the Galaxy have all been confirmed to appear as well as new members like Doctor Strange, Black Panther and Spider-Man. Peter Dinklage has been cast in an unconfirmed role but is speculated to play a version of Pip the Troll.
Characters that most likely won’t be appearing in the upcoming Infinity War films, however, will be any of the TV characters – according to Anthony Mackie:
“Different universes, different worlds, different companies, different designs. Kevin Feige is very specific about how he wants the Marvel Universe to be seen in the film world. It wouldn’t work. It wouldn’t work at all.”
Marvel’s Infinity War and it’s sequel are slated to premiere May 4, 2018 and May 3, 2019.
