Vice Press had this to say about the project:
“When John Wagner and Carlos Ezquerra created Judge Dredd, they created a character whose costume and look embodied everything that he stood for. An iconic character easily recognisible from silhouette alone. Carlos Ezquerra is simply one of the greatest comic book artists in history and we grew up loving the characters that he created and drew. To work with Carlos Ezquerra was a dream come true. It was an honour and privilege to work with such a legend of the industry and we are extremely pleased with this piece.”

About Carlos Ezquerra:
Born in Zaragoza, Spain, Carlos Ezquerra started his career in comics drawing romantic and adventure strips for Scottish publishers D. C. Thomson. In 1974 his talent was recognised by London publisher IPC, who induced him to desert to the enemy to work on a new war comic, Battle Picture Weekly, where he designed and drew hard-hitting strips like Rat Pack, Major Eazy and El Mestizo. Carlos then moved on to the future – to a new comic called 2000AD, for which he and writer John Wagner created the multi-award-winning Judge Dredd. Another Wagner-Ezquerra creation, the perennially popular Strontium Dog, soon joined Dredd on the 2000AD roster. Others followed, including Fiends of the Eastern Front, Al’s Baby, and adaptations of Harry Harrison’s Stainless Steel Rat novels. Ezquerra has also collaborated numerous times with writer Garth Ennis. His credits include Bloody Mary, Adventures in the Rifle Brigade and two Preacher specials (The Good Old Boys and The Saint of Killers miniseries) for DC Comics, as well as Just a Pilgrim for Black Bull Entertainment and War Stories for Dynamite He is currently drawing Strontium Dog and about to start a new War Stories series with Garth Ennis. In July 2015 at San Diego Comic Con International, Carlos was awarded the “Inkpot Award for Achievement in Comics Arts”
